Kopirkin — a ruggedized, bill- and coin-operated self-service copier

Operation

Kopirkin was designed to meet two goals: simplicity and robustness. We deliberately didn't include functions like scanning to/printing from flash drives, sending faxes etc.* Both usage and maintenance of our photocopier are very simple and intuitive.

*These and other extra features will be present in advanced version, which is currently in development, and has its own, narrower market.

Usage

To make copies, user should follow 5 simple steps (which are desribed on the panel installed on top of the unit):

  1. Decide how many copies he wants, and deposit appropriate amount of money (coins or/and bills).
  2. Place the original onto the exposure glass, under the lid.
  3. Press 'Start' button to make a copy. Replace the original with another one, if needed.
  4. LCD display indicates amount of copies left.
  5. When finished, take the copies from receiving tray and press 'Change' button to get the change.

(See the corresponding photo gallery).

Maintenance

Operator has to perform following procedures:

  1. Collecting receipts and re-filling paper.
  2. Replacing used-up toner and drum cartridges.
  3. Cleaning bill acceptor, coin acceptor and copier unit (approximately once in 6 months).

All these procedures are described in detail in the "Operator's manual".
To determine frequency of maintenance use capacities/resources given on the Specifications page.

Copier is the most complex and heavily-used part of Kopirkin. To ensure uniterrupted operation, follow three simple guidelines:

  1. Use recommended quality paper and original supplies
  2. Do cleaning at appropriate periods
  3. Meet environmental operating conditions (mostly, operating temperature and humidity)
